Harbor Freight Solar Panel Charge Controller

This is the charge controller included in the Harbor Freight 45W solar panel kit. The housing is a very nice aluminum extrusion which is also used as a heat sink for the electronics.


There are the following outputs on the unit:
- 5V USB
- Cigarette Lighter for the power inverter
- Cigarette lighter for 12 VDC
- 3.5mm jack for 3 VDC
- 3.5mm for 6 VDC
-  2x xxmm for 12 VDC

  1. Hi thank you for this post. I just ran into it today. This will help in my project. I also obtained the schematic I am working to changing the charge voltage from 12.5 to 14.0 DC max. As you know charging a battery unit to 12.5 is not efficient. Batteries now days can handle up to 14.0 volts DC. This allows more power time than 12.5. I will give you my results when I am complete. For now its a back burner project as I am not using my RV right now. Thank You Marc Rosas
